TEHRAN (defapress)– In line with the Astana Talks, the foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Turkey, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, Sergei Lavrov and Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, respectively met in the UN on Thursday.

Iran, Turkey, Russia FMs meet on Syria in NYThe first trilateral meeting of Iran, Turkey and Russia on Syria was held in Sochi, southwestern Russia on November 22, 2017.

As the guarantors of truce, the three countries discussed the Syrian Civil War.

Cooperation on Syria that was guaranteed in the nine Astana meeting was confirmed in the Sochi meeting by the presidents of the three countries.

Guaranteeing de-escalation zones by the three countries had an important role in the fight against Daesh terrorists, and reducing clash, which lead to Sochi meeting.

The second and the third meetings were held in Turkey and Iran.

In Tehran meeting, the three countries announced their commitment to Syrian territorial integrity and national sovereignty and also the principles of the UN Charter and called for respect to the principles.

The three presidents had accepted that the foreign ministers and the experts continue with the talks.
